Mid Island Survival Skills (M.I.S.S.) teaches bushcraft and wilderness survival skills to youth looking to further deepen their outdoor skills. This program covers knowledge about shelter making, safe fire building techniques, open fire cooking, trip planning, risk assessment, survival priorities, safe handling techniques for knife, axe, saw and shovel use, shelter construction strategies, navigation basics and advice on how to build your personal and family Wilderness Survival Kits. Making use of nature’s resources as harmlessly as possible is our priority. Thus, during our programs, not a single living tree is damaged. The Wilderness Survival Training program illustrates how to use natural materials without disturbing nature at the same time. Our aim is to encourage a new generation that cares for nature. During the program, teens will build a significant connection with nature. The main part of the program incorporates hands-on skills building.
The Spring Break Outdoor Survival Program is located at Camp Gilwell
(5200 Duncan Bay Main Line Rd, Courtenay, BC) on Vancouver Island.
$325 per person
